Abraham Lincoln: Vampire Hunter
20th Century Fox |
This film is based on a novel of the same title, except for the punctuation mark. The novel is called Abraham Lincoln, Vampire Hunter. With a comma. The movie is called Abraham Lincoln: Vampire Hunter. With a colon.

"All that fuss over punctuation? Tsk tsk." |
Anyway, good thing they got the book's author Seth Grahame-Smith to write the screenplay, possibly to retain whatever awesomeness the book had. Sadly, that awesomeness wasn't translated successfully, except for two great action sequences (the stallion fight and the one on the train), and that was more of director Timur Bekmambetov's work than the screenwriter's.

Great cinematography, too. And editing. |
Also, should Disney decide to do some Star Wars spin-off prequels, they should get Benjamin Walker to star as a young Qui-Gon Jinn. He totally looks like Liam Neeson. Or maybe he can star in a Taken prequel, where they take his... dog? Or childhood best friend? I don't know.
20th Century Fox
He could say his name is Liam Neeson, Jr. and no one would question him. |

This one could have definitely been a lot more ridiculous and insane, like the premise seemed like it promised, but I still had fun with it. Surprised this actually did well at all at the box office. Totally thought that people weren't all that interested in the idea of Honest Abe, hacking up vamps, but I guess there is a big enough crowd out there for this. Good review Sting.
Thanks Dan O!
